Digital and Collaborative Transformation in Learning and Leadership Evaluate the role of digital technologies and collaboration in changing educational environments and reflect on your professional practice to identify opportunities for innovation.

Leading Research Informed Innovation in Practice Develop evidence based, culturally intelligent approaches to lead the implementation of digital and collaborative learning initiatives in your practice.

What you need to know

KEY INFORMATION AND FAQS

This programme is delivered part time, over 32 weeks (or full-time as part of the Master of Contemporary Education in 20 weeks). 

As part of this certificate, you will be required to dedicate the following time:

  • 1 x 90 minute live, facilitated online session each week (there are two times to choose from) + additional preparation and collaboration work outside of this (roughly 6-8 hours per week).

  • Weekly applied, hands-on learning in your classroom, integrating new ideas, tools and concepts and reflecting on your practice.

  • 2 x sets of block days in week 7 and week 19, delivered face-to-face or online.

Note: The learning outcomes are the same whether you attend online or face-to-face, however those who choose to join us face-to-face will have the chance to connect in person with others on the programme, and academyEX team.

There are two intakes of this postgraduate certificate per year, starting in January and July in 2024.

To be eligible to study on the Programme, applicants must meet the admission criteria. The high-level entry criteria as approved by NZQA are as follows:

  • have a bachelor’s degree (or level 7 Graduate Diploma) in education or similar discipline; OR

  • provide documentary evidence of outcomes in an education work environment to demonstrate an ability to perform in the Programme and commit to achieving its outcomes. 

Evidence of English Language proficiency is also required for International Students.

  • The domestic tuition fee for the Programme is $3,400 (including GST). 

  • The fee for international students studying in New Zealand is NZD$16,599 (including GST)

  • The fee for international students studying outside of New Zealand is NZD$10,825

academyEX offers a range of scholarships to support people to study and help to minimise barriers to learning. Unfortunately there are no scholarships specifically for the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital and Collaborative Learning qualification.

If you are studying the Postgraduate Certificate Courses as part of your Master of Contemporary Education, you can apply for an academyEX scholarship for the Masters.

Early Bird Discount: There is an Early Bird discount of 10% off the course fees for domestic students who apply 4 weeks before the start date of an intake, and 8 weeks before the start of an intake for international students. The discount will be applied to your invoice automatically through the enrolment process. 

Please note: Early Bird Discount and Scholarships cannot both be applied. If you receive a scholarship, the remaining amount payable will not be discounted with the early bird rate.

The Digital and Collaborative Learning Postgraduate Certification is an innovative Programme designed for teachers and educators at all levels to be equipped to bring contemporary skills and tools into the classroom.

Absolutely. We’ve had loads of students do the course alongside family members, friends and colleagues. There are also opportunities to work collaboratively on assessments during the programme and work together on a project of interest. Learning is always better together!

In the lead up to the start of each intake, fully enrolled students will receive onboarding emails from the team, as well as access to platforms that will be used during your study. An online orientation session is held at the beginning of each intake, and all students are expected to attend in person at academyEX HQ in Auckland. International students learning onshore with us will also be required to attend a separate orientation session. Details will be provided during the application process.

This programme is available to study as an international student either via online distance learning or in-person in New Zealand with an appopriate visa. To find out more about studying with academyEX as an international student, and for programme fees, visit our International Students page.

Studying full time is a significant commitment (35 - 40 hours per week) and we do not recommend working full time whilst studying full time. Please contact us if you have specific circumstances that you would like to discuss.
