Online learning has become a popular choice for upskilling in recent years. But there’s a big difference between absorbing new information and engaging with it.
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are called massive for a reason - there’s no limit on the number of people learning at any one time. That can leave you alone in your learning journey, because while you can pace your learning, there’s not always someone to bounce your ideas or discuss your thinking with. Plus course facilitators find it almost impossible to be available to support all the learners.
At academyEX we think learning is done better together. We run our postgraduate programmes as intakes with limited places, which means you join and progress with your cohort.
Whether it’s a micro-credential or a masters, programmes are structured with a mix of self-paced, self-directed online learning and regular class sessions.
We call this blended learning and it’s a great way to get the most out of your study. Online learning makes it easy to fit with your schedule while class sessions provide time for engaging conversations with your peers and industry experts.

Understand more with flipped learning
Everyone has different schedules and learns in different ways. Some of us are morning people, others do better in the evenings. To make it work for you, we use a flipped learning model.
When you’re learning something new, like contemporary leadership models, resources such as articles, videos and podcasts are available online through our learning management system to explore before a class session. That gives you time to digest, to think critically and search out more resources if you’re really keen. Then, when you come to the class session, everyone has a foundational understanding and the discussion can build upon that.
What you get is deeper engagement, an enriched learning experience and space for you to bring your thoughts to the group.
Part-time learning for full time change
It’s a busy world and the demands on our time are real. But the busyness shouldn’t get in the way of what you want to know and where you want to go.
That’s why all our programmes are part-time. We’ve designed them to fit in alongside a full time job yet be challenging enough to extend you. The skills and knowledge you gain are practical too, so you can learn one day and apply the next. That gives you the opportunity to test and get real time feedback on new approaches and ideas.
