Melissa Fincham
Melissa is somewhat like the oracle for The Mind Lab and Tech Futures Lab - able to hold a wealth of past, present and future knowledge of the two organisations, and everyone who has ever passed through the doors.
As Executive Assistant to CEO Frances Valintine, GM Fee Webby, Melissa is both the ringmaster and lead juggler for both organisations, who knows all that is going on, at any given time.
There is no such thing as a typical day for Melissa, handling event organisation, fielding enquiries from staff and students around the country, negotiating calendar conflicts between leadership team members while still managing to ask you how your day is going. No job is too complex or situation too difficult for Melissa to iron out.
She quips that her role means she gets to do ‘all the fun stuff no one else wants to do’, but the reality is that she’s able to do all the stuff that no one else knows how to do. From her perspective, her superpower is seamless calendar management and looking after the team, but from where the rest of us stand, her superpower is having the incredible ability to keep the plates spinning and the wheels turning no matter what is going on.
