John has spent the last 30+ years learning about telecommunications, mainly satellite,
particularly in market validation, product commercialisation and sales of new technologies.
The interface between the development of new technologies and external market needs
fascinates him. He is somewhat addicted to start-ups, particularly the early stages.
At present he is leading the development of Apogee, as well as being involved in a couple of US start-ups in the broadcast internet and connected vehicles arena.
John has worked in NZ and globally with organizations such as LeoSat, Zenno Astronautics, Speedcast, Kymeta, 9 Spokes, Pacific Fibre, IPSTAR/Thaicom, Singtel Optus, Nava Networks, and Telecom NZ.
He has a B.Sc., M.Sc. and an MBA, and lives on the Tawharanui Peninsula with 4 Ha of mainly native bush. Maintaining the property, walking and gardening occupy his spare time.
